Tony Yayo
Young Buck
Lloyd Banks
On December 31, 2002, nearly a year before the release of G-Unit's much anticipated album, Beg for Mercy, Tony Yayo was arrested along with 50 Cent on weapons-possession charges. During a background check, police discovered Yayo had an outstanding warrant for a previous weapons-possession charge. In early 2003, he was sentenced for bail jumping and would remain in jail until the beginning of 2004. As a result, he was unable to record for the album and was therefore only featured on two tracks that had been recorded before.During Tony Yayo's imprisonment, G-Unit became increasingly popular. They started a campaign called "Free Yayo". Many G-Unit videos featured the group's members wearing "Free Yayo" t-shirts. While his appearances on mixtapes announced his return on the street level, his summer hit "So Seductive" let the rest of the world know. In August, while his single was dominating urban radio, MTV, and BET, Yayo released his debut, Thoughts of a Predicate Felon. The other singles that were released from this album were: "Curious", "Pimpin'", "Drama Setter", and "I Know You Don’t Love Me".
G-Unit was founded when childhood friends, Lloyd Banks, 50 Cent and Tony Yayo decided to make a group with each other. They met Young Buck when Cash Money Records artists came to New York and 50 Cent heard Young Buck rapping. After 50 Cent signed his contract with Aftermath Entertainment, Young Buck joined the group. 50 Cent gave Young Buck a feature on his successful debut Get Rich or Die Tryin' album on the track "Blood Hound". After this, he appeared on G-Unit's debut album, Beg for Mercy, which went on to be certified 2x Platinum. Young Buck then released his debut album, Straight Outta Ca$hville, which sold 2.3 million worldwide.   His second album, Buck the World debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and No. 1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, with sales of 141,083 in the first week.
Lloyd Banks started rapping around his neighborhood to create a buzz on the streets. He then hooked up with neighborhood producers and made tracks for local mixtapes, and currently has a renowned reputation on the mixtape scene. He released his solo debut album The Hunger for More in June of 2004. The first single was the summer smash hit "On Fire" which featured 50 Cent. The album debuted at number 1 on the Billboard charts with 433,000 copies sold in the first week. The album has since sold over two million copies and has been certified platinum by the RIAA.   Lloyd Bank's second album, "Rotten Apple" is a play on New York City's nickname "The Big Apple". It was released on October 10, 2006. The album debuted at #3, selling 143,000 copies in its first week.

Spider Loc
Mobb Deep
Hot Rod
Originally from Sacramento, the Phoenix-based former mortgage broker's rapping career started with a phone call. His style has been described as similar to 50 Cent with lots of hooks and a melodic delivery. As such, his lyrics do not include violent content or drug-dealing." He is also signed to Money Management Group, which is a subsidiary of G-Unit Records. Fast Lane is title of Young Hot Rod's debut album, it is expected to feature G-Unit members such as 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks and Young Buck. Originally, the album was set to come out in the summer of 2006, but was later pushed back so that it didn't coincide with other G-Unit releases such as Mobb Deep's Blood Money, Lloyd Banks' Rotten Apple and Young Buck's Buck the World.
Spider Loc was first discovered by Jacob O'Coffey and tagged along with Death Row Records. In September 2004, Spider Loc met rapper Young Buck in Atlanta and did a freestyle rap for him. A week later in Los Angeles, Buck introduced him to 50 Cent on the set of the "Shorty Wanna Ride" video, and he performed the same freestyle. After four months, the rapper was offered a position with 50's G-Unit.He has since been featured on many G-Unit mixtapes such as G-Unit Radio Part 18 - Rags To Riches where the Loc was the main subject of the mixtape and has also released his own mixtape with G-Unit West, titled Bangadoshish (LA Kings), which featured artists Young Buck, Big Syke (from Thug Life), 50 Cent and Olivia. M.O.P., short for Mash-Out Posse, is an American hardcore hip hop duo who is currently signed to G-Unit Records. The duo, comprised of Billy Danzenie and Lil' Fame, are known for their colorful and often violently aggressive delivery. Although they maintain a strong underground following, they had some minor mainstream success in the early 2000s with the songs "Ante Up" and "Cold As Ice". In June 2005, M.O.P. officially announced their signing with 50 Cent's G-Unit Records, around the same time as Queens rap duo Mobb Deep. 50 Cent is a big fan of the group, and has stated his plans to gain the group more mainstream success.
Mobb Deep are a hip hop duo which consists of rappers Havoc and Prodigy. Since his re-introduction in 2001, 50 Cent has performed memorable freestyles over some of Mobb Deep’s key instrumentals. In 2002, 50 Cent’s use on “Bump That”- a Havoc solo record –was met with the kind of reception that prompted a remix that became yet another classic under the Mobb belt. 50 and the Mobb reunited again in 2004 on the unreleased cut “Clap Those Things” and again on the Havoc produced “Ain't No Click” off Lloyd Banks platinum seller, Beg for Mercy. This was the beginning of what now seemed inevitable.   Four years into his success and 50 Cent, along with G-Unit, continue to use Mobb Deep’s music as platform to unleash some of their most memorable music unto the streets. After fulfilling commitments to their previous label, the Mobb became free agents in 2004. The first call came from 50 Cent himself and within days, the most significant sound in 50’s style of music is now signed to G-Unit Records.   Mobb Deep's most recent album, titled Blood Money was released on May 2, 2006. It features G-Unit members 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo, and Young Buck, as well as Mary J. Blige and Nate Dogg. This marked their eighth release.
